Another Premier League weekend, another London derby for Tottenham Hotspur to contend with as Crystal Palace travel to N17. What a couple of weeks it has been for Roberto De Zerbi’s men though, with back-to-back wins taking them from rock bottom of the table to just two points behind sixth. This week, we are predicting some betting outcomes from Man City vs Brighton, Brentford vs Nottingham Forest, and Liverpool vs Arsenal, as well as Spurs vs Crystal Palace.

Despite big wins in gameweek seven, it was a week of betting losses for us last time out as Tottenham shocked the Premier League by claiming just their second-ever win at Stamford Bridge. I would always swap a lost bet for a Spurs win, though!

So what about our predictions for this week…

Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Premier League Saturday

You could be forgiven for thinking Tottenham and Palace were in the ‘same boat’ heading into the London derby this weekend. After all, only two points and three places separate them in the Premier League table. But while the points tallies may be similar, the mood at Selhurst Park and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could not be further apart.

Crystal Palace have just one win in their last six games across all competitions, and have tasted defeat in back-to-back Prem fixtures without scoring a single goal. A 5-0 away defeat to Brighton in match seven was compounded by a 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle last time out. Palace are also without a win in their last two Europa League games and even lost a friendly against Bristol City during the last international break. There are even rumours that Pierre Sage could lose his job if he drops another three points against Spurs on Saturday.

In contrast, things at Tottenham are finally looking up! De Zerbi had to bat away questions over his own future after going winless in the first six games of the season, but two wins on the bounce does wonders for your reputation. Not to mention pulling off a famous away victory at Stamford Bridge – something only Mauricio Pochettino has on his Spurs CV in the Premier League era.

The only downer for Tottenham heading into their next home fixture is their ever-growing injury list. Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, Savio and Mykhailo Mudryk are all certain to miss the Palace game, while James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Destiny Udogie are all doubts – as well as Rodrigo Bentancur’s suspension.

Man City vs Brighton

Man City vs Brighton Premier League Saturday

Man City come into this one as Premier League table-toppers, but also off the back of their first defeat of the season away to Aston Villa (not to mention a certain 114 charges and a potential points deduction hanging over them). Brighton have been the surprise package of 2026/27 so far and currently sit third, needing a win to close the gap on Man City back to two points. Much like the Citizens, the Seagulls enter this fixture off the back of a defeat at the hands of Liverpool.

Not only are we looking at first vs third here, but also the top Premier League goalscorers vs the second-highest Prem scorers. Brighton have 23 goals in just eight games, while Man City are on 20. Between them, they have conceded just 16 so far this season, but it does feel like a game that will be open, free-flowing, and full of goals.

Brentford vs Nottingham Forest

Brentford vs Nothingham Forest Premier League Saturday

Nottingham Forest find themselves down in the relegation zone as they prepare for a tough away fixture at the Gtech. The Tricky Trees are certainly finding it tricky of late in the Premier League, having gone four games without a win, picking up just a single point in that time away to Ipswich Town. Forest have already lost to Leeds, Palace, Arsenal, and Coventry this season, yet earned draws against Liverpool and Spurs. Their main problem has been a lack of goals, netting just six in eight games – the joint-lowest tally in the division.

Brentford, on the other hand, have 14 goals to their name so far this season. However, they have hit a bit of a wall of late, without a win in the last three against Hull (D), Liverpool (L), and Aston Villa (D). The Bees’ last win came on September 18th, a 3-0 home thrashing of Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea. They have only lost once at home in the Premier League this season, though, and that came after a red card against Liverpool.

Liverpool vs Arsenal

Liverpool vs Arsenal Premier League Sunday

Arguably the biggest fixture of the weekend. If Man City do fall foul of a points deduction, and Brighton eventually fall away, the title race could well come down to these two horses. If that is the case, Liverpool almost have to treat this as a must-win fixture to close the six-point gap on the Gunners. Fortunately for them, they come into it off the back of one of their best games of the season, a 2-0 home win over Brighton.

Arsenal have been far from their free-flowing best, and now Bukayo Saka is set to spend a period on the sidelines, but Mikel Arteta’s side have been grinding out wins like true champions.

Keep an eye out next week when I will be predicting Leeds vs Tottenham, Arsenal vs Hull, Nottingham Forest vs Man City, and Brighton vs Brentford.
