Seb Knows: Tottenham vs Coventry City Prediction & More

The Premier League continues this weekend as Tottenham and Roberto De Zerbi desperately look for their first win of the season against newly-promoted Coventry City. This week, we’re predicting some betting outcomes from Man City vs Ipswich Town, Brighton vs Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal, as well as Spurs vs Coventry.
Last time out, we managed to snag a double winner when Everton beat Ipswich (9/11), and Thierno Barry scored (8/5), but it was a rough return elsewhere.
But what about our predictions for this week…
Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry

It was a strange party atmosphere in N17 at the end of last season when Roberto De Zerbi led the Lilywhites to a last-gasp Premier League survival. The last thing Spurs fans expected was to be right back in the relegation zone again six games into the new season after signing £394m worth of new talent.
On paper, a home fixture against a newly-promoted side who lost their first four games of the season should be a dream for Micky Van de Ven and co. Unfortunately, Coventry arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium off the back of a 4-1 win over Newcastle and a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest (two sides Spurs have already failed to beat this season).
It was a case of missed chances once again for Tottenham last time out away to Man United. The likes of Savio, Kudus, and Conor Gallagher were on fire at Old Trafford, doing everything but putting the ball in the back of the net. It didn’t help that Dominic Solanke fluffed his lines on multiple occasions, and it certainly didn’t help when Rodrigo Bentancur saw red for a headbutt on Luke Shaw.
If Tottenham have any hopes of getting back into the European football places this season, and claiming the increased revenue that comes with it, they need to start picking up wins pronto!
Call me biased, but I’m backing them to do just that on Monday Night Football under the lights. Another fast start will finally lead to a couple of goals for Spurs as they take the lead for the first time all season.
Man City vs Ipswich Town

Many thought Man City might roll over and fizzle out this season following the guilty verdict on their 114 charges, but the 3-0 win over Liverpool proved otherwise. If the Citizens go down, they want to go down with another Premier League trophy. Weirdly, I think this is going to create a gritty siege mentality within Enzo Maresca’s squad, as we see them band together against the noise.
Ipswich have enjoyed a pretty decent start to the season – with three wins and three defeats – but which version of the Tractor Boys will show up at the Etihad? The version that beat Sunderland and Fulham 2-1, or the version that lost 5-2 to Man United. Whatever the case, Ipswich have only failed to score twice in eight games across all comps this season.
Brighton vs Crystal Palace

If Tottenham are the underperformers of the season so far, then Brighton are the surprise success story. It seems no matter how many world-class talents they sell, they always unearth a couple more. The Seagulls have goals in them too this season, as they sit third in the table. A 4-0 win over Aston Villa, 5-0 over Coventry, and even a 3-0 victory over Arsenal prove that.
Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are down in 12th and have just two wins to their name from six games, including a poor 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Ipswich Town.
Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal

Arsenal may be the defending champions, but the Gunners have looked far from imperious so far this season. Just look at the 3-0 defeat to Brighton as an example of that. Mikel Arteta’s side have conceded in all three of their last domestic fixtures, but did look back to their best at home to Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Nottingham Forest are down in 15th with just one win all season, which was an impressive 2-1 away victory against Aston Villa, to be fair. But defeats to Palace, Coventry, and Leeds show worrying signs. The one silver lining is that Forest have looked better against the Big Six this season, earning draws against both Liverpool and Tottenham.
Keep an eye out next week when I will be predicting Chelsea vs Tottenham in the London Derby at Stamford Bridge.
