Why Trust Nostrabet – Our Criteria for Reviewing Cricket Betting Apps

Nostrabet is a site you can trust for a range of reasons. We are independent, experienced gambling experts. Moreover, our reviews are rigorous and combine our own experience with the feedback of thousands of users. Our testing procedures look at all the key areas of mobile betting.

We consider how the various betting apps for cricket fare when it comes to the user interface. The speed, security and ease of use of the app are also very important. However, we also assess what extra features they offer and how good the customer support is. Last, we look at factors such as bonus offers, payment methods and the range of events and markets.

In addition to the testing and day-to-day use of our wily team of cricket-betting pros, we also take a look at the bigger picture. Just because we had a good experience with a particular cricket betting app does not mean that everyone will. That is why we also consider reviews at the major app stores and other trusted third-party sites.

What Key Features Should a Cricket Betting App Have?

Search “betting apps cricket” and you get hundreds to choose from. What makes for the best cricket betting app is varied, subjective and personal. Some customers want a big free bet and maybe some free spins. Alternatively, other bettors may simply want the best odds and range of cricket markets. Yet other members may just want a fast, simple, easy-to-use app with no glitches.

We tested all the best UK cricket betting sites, including Betfred, William Hill and others. Several of these offer all of the above and more.

Great Odds for Cricket

Casual punters may not be too concerned about getting the best odds. However, more serious cricket bettors, or those who bet very regularly or with high stakes, probably will be. Ultimately, we believe that all top apps must have strong odds. Placing your wagers at the best prices possible is the simplest way to give yourself a better chance of coming out on top.

However, no site offers the best odds all the time on all markets. Therefore, we recommend that if you take your cricket betting seriously, you should use at least three different apps. This will give you a better chance of accessing higher odds.

In-app Features

Many punters choose their cricket betting app on the strength of the extra features it offers them. Most of these are now standard across all top bookmakers and are typically the same at the main sportsbook or the mobile app. However, you should still check that any app includes the features you want. For example, does it offer cash-out, including partial cash-out? And is it available on a wide range of sports and markets, including cricket?

Another one to look out for is live streaming. This can be great for smaller matches that are not available on mainstream channels. Do they have a bet-builder tool (though note that few sites offer these bets on cricket)? Do they offer customers an in-app tipping service, via expert pundits, AI, or a forum? Alternatively, do they offer users a comprehensive stats resource?

Ease of Navigation and Bet Placement

It is vital that a cricket betting app is simple to use. Therefore, it should be quick and easy to find the bets you want. Moreover, placing your wagers should be just as straightforward. Whether you like football, horse racing, cricket or anything else, being able to place your bets without glitches or hassle is a big plus.

Regular Promotions & Bonuses for Cricket

Many sportsbooks and betting sites offer cricket bets, but relatively few have a wide range of offers for cricket. A bonus for new customers is standard and can typically be used for any sport. However, it is far less common to see a sportsbook dedicated to cricket that has a regular promotion for existing customers. Consequently, sites that do offer this score perform very well in our assessments.

Wide Coverage of Championships and Tournaments

Although offers are important, many customers are more concerned that their cricket betting app of choice offers them the bets they want to place. Accordingly, sites that cover a wide range of cricketing events, tournaments, and leagues rank well with us. Naturally, many punters in the UK want to bet only on the biggest events. However, for some, coverage of smaller and more niche championships is important. Our favourite apps have an extensive choice, so fans can always find the event they want.

Great Selection of Betting Markets

Obviously, finding the team/league you want is important. However, you must also be able to bet on the market that you want to. Therefore, it is just as important that a good cricket bookmaker offers a great selection of betting markets. Once more, our favoured apps and bookies do this. They cover all the standard markets but additionally have more unusual ones too. The very best cricket sites offer bettors literally hundreds of different bets on the biggest games.

Our Top Picks of the Best Cricket Betting Apps

We have tested and researched so many sports betting apps to ensure that all the ones we recommend are first class. The cricket betting apps below are all easy and intuitive to use and have few glitches. They also all have something that really makes them stand out from the crowd.

Coral: Unbeatable for niche events

Coral updates their app quite regularly, so any small issues are quickly fixed, and it tends to look fresh and modern. As one of the longest-established UK betting brands, it is no surprise that their cricket betting coverage is superb. Cricket is a major sport in this country – well, certainly in England – and Coral is an excellent app for fans.

They cover a genuinely huge range of events, including lesser ones like the women’s T20 Blast, Trinidad T10 Blast and even the Maharashtra Premier League, a regional tournament in India. In some competitions, you may only have the main match odds market on which to bet. However, even a small tournament like the Maharashtra Premier League saw over 15 markets available. Those included team and player specials, runs markets, betting on sixes and more.

  • Pros
  • Slick app
  • Amazing choice of matches
  • Highly trusted site
  • Cons
  • Few cricket offers aside from odds boosts.

William Hill: Best for cricket odds

William Hill Cricket Betting

Like Coral, William Hill is a massive UK name that has been around for a long time. However, their cricket betting options are not quite as good. They offer some of the smaller, less popular leagues, such as Major League Cricket in the US. However, they do not offer as many as some of their cricket betting rivals.

That said, when it comes to the selection of bets available on each match, they are excellent. A women’s T20 clash offered us over 70 bets, whilst there were almost 90 for the MLC. In addition, William Hill offers excellent cricket odds that may be the best around. On the other hand, the app itself can be a little slow and seems dated. Last, they have no fixed cricket offers or promotions.

  • Pros
  • Amazing cricket odds
  • Wide range of markets
  • Cons
  • The app could be slicker

Ladbrokes: A solid all-rounder

The Ladbrokes cricket offering is very solid, although it rarely heads into spectacular territory. They cover a good amount of global fixtures and offer a healthy mix of markets for most of them. Odds are regularly competitive, especially when subject to an odds boost, which you can see for the bigger cricketing fixtures. There are enough in-game stats to be genuinely useful, too, especially as you can see detailed run information for each batter.

Given you have all this on an easy to use and responsive mobile app, it is hard to be dissatisfied with the cricket betting service Ladbrokes provides.

  • Pros
  • Good odds
  • Satisfying app experience
  • Cons
  • Very few outright markets

There are a few sports that Bet365 do not cover well, and cricket is no exception. On their app, you will find a lot of fixtures, many of which come with a top selection of markets. The number of markets varies depending on the stature of the match, but Bet365 regularly have more than rival bookmakers. Many clashes come with attractive markets like batter milestones, bowler wickets, over/under runs, time first wicket, and team top bowler/batter. As an added benefit, you can add many of the available markets to a bet builder.

In addition to this excellent choice of game-specific markets, Bet365 also excels when providing outright markets for active Test matches and major competitions.

  • Pros
  • Lots of live streams
  • Wide variety of betting markets
  • Cons
  • Could provide more detailed in-game stats

Betfred: Best for in-play betting

As most cricket matches take a long time, there are a lot of in-play betting opportunities. This is where Betfred comes into its element as its in-play stats are exceptionally good. For many matches, they will have a bowling visual showing where deliveries have gone over. You can also see where the batting team has scored their runs during the match, and the run value for each shot. On top of this, you have full scorecard information in just a single tap.

Another strength of Betfred is that they run cricket-specific offers such as the Cricket Free Bet Club. Through this deal, you can earn £10 in free bets when placing three qualifying in-play cricket bets.

  • Pros
  • Great in-play stats and visuals
  • Cricket-specific promotions
  • Cons
  • Organisation of markets can be a little messy

Types of Cricket Matches to Bet on

There are now more different types of cricket matches to bet on than ever. In a world where competition for eyeballs and attention has never been fiercer, several new formats have sprung up. This is great for punters, with cricket available year-round, almost 24/7.

  • Test – the OG and still, for many fans, the best. Tests take place only at the international level, with England, India and Australia tending to play them most often. Games last five days, and in 2024, for example, England played 17 times. India were next, playing 15 Test matches.
  • One-day – One Day Internationals (ODIs), like most one-day cricket, see two sides bat one innings of 50 overs each. ODIs pit international teams against each other but this format is also played at club level.
  • T20 – T20 games are similar to one-day ones but each side bats 20 overs each. Again, these are played internationally and at the club/franchise level.
  • Shorter Format – The Hundred is a 100-ball competition with its own unique features, whilst T10 cricket sees teams face just 60 balls each.
  • First Class Cricket – this term refers to games played over three days or more. Technically it includes Tests but the term is generally used for domestic games. These are often played over four days and see counties, states or clubs play each other.

Major Cricket Championships and Tournaments

As said, there are now more different forms of the game than ever. However, among the various “types of cricket” that fans can bet on, there are a range of significant leagues, cups, and events. Indeed, what follows below is just a small selection of the most important championships and tournaments cricket has to offer.

The Ashes Series

The Ashes traditionally refers to Test matches between England and Australia. However, in recent times, it has come to refer to any sporting clash between the nations. Although it seems reasonable to call an ODI between the old rivals an “Ashes series”, here we will look at the more traditional meaning.

The five-match Ashes series typically takes place between England and Australia once every two years. They generally alternate between the two nations and the rivalry is intense. Such clashes are probably the biggest in Test cricket and generate huge excitement. They also throw up almost limitless cricket betting opportunities. Moreover, the best cricket betting sites tend to offer some form of promotion or bonus for the Ashes.

ICC Cricket World Cup

The ICC Cricket World Cup is the premier international tournament in one-day cricket. It is a 50-over, ODI event and was first played in 1975, in England. It is held every four years, and Australia is the most successful side overall. The Aussies are the current champions (2023) and have won the World Cup six times. Moreover, they have made two more finals. India and the West Indies have won it twice, with England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka boasting one victory each. New Zealand have made the final twice, losing in both 2015 and 2019. The next World Cup is scheduled for 2027 and will see 14 teams compete. Significantly, Namibia will be the first time co-hosts, along with South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Indian Premier League (IPL)

The IPL is the world’s premier T20 competition in non-international cricket. Franchise cricket, as it is known, has become very lucrative for the world’s best white-ball cricketers. Explosive batters and wicket-taking bowlers act as guns for hire and may play for several different T20 franchises in different leagues around the world in the same year. However, the really big bucks lie in the IPL.

In 2025, for example, Indian international wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was bought for around $3.2m. The powerful batter receives all of that money, not bad for less than three months’ work. The IPL was first played in 2008 and 10 teams now take part over 74 games, providing almost limitless chances to bet on cricket.

T20 Cricket World Cup

The IPL is the biggest event in T20 franchise cricket but the World Cup probably trumps it internationally. The first edition was held in 2007, in South Africa, and was won by India in a tense final against rivals Pakistan. India is also the current champions, having beaten South Africa in 2024.

The T20 World Cup is generally held every two years, with India, West Indies and England the only teams to have won it twice. Additionally, Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have a win apiece. In recent times, 20 nations have taken part. Consequently, we get to see smaller countries, such as Nepal, Oman and Kenya strut their stuff.

The Hundred

The Hundred is the newest addition to the cricket calendar and was created by the England and Wales Cricket Board. It is unique in being a brand, competition and discrete format. Whereas there are many T20 leagues aside from the IPL and various first-class championships around the world, The Hundred is the only contest to utilise the 100-ball format.

Aside from that, it has other unique quirks and rule variations. For example, The Hundred uses five- not six-ball overs, called sets. Additionally, a bowler is permitted to bowl consecutive sets.

The Hundred remains in its infancy, and the inaugural tournament was held in 2021. There are just eight city-based teams, and the men’s and women’s competitions run alongside each other.

Popular Cricket Betting Markets

As with most sports, there are many different markets available when it comes to cricket. However, many of the options cricket betting apps offer their members are rather niche. Many bettors stake most of their bets in a small selection of the most popular markets. These include:

  • Outright bets – back a team to win a league or cup, or a player to be the leading runscorer or wicket-taker in it. Such wagers are also applied across international series.
  • Match odds – a simple bet on which team will win a given game, (note that the depth ending, on format a draw and/or tie may be options, and it is important to understand the difference between them).
  • Top runscorer – bet on which player will score the most runs in a match or innings. This is available by team or for the whole game.
  • Top wicket-taker – as above, but with regard to wickets taken by a bowler.
  • Totals – you can bet on how many fours or sixes a match will see, how many runs a player or team will score and more. Bets are usually over or under a given total.
  • In-play – live betting is very popular in cricket, and you can bet on many of the markets above once the game has started. Furthermore, there are lots of short-term markets based on the next ball, over or passage of play.

How to Choose the Right Cricket Betting App for You

As you can see, there is a lot to consider when it comes to cricket betting apps. There is no simple answer when it comes to which is the best. This is because much is personal and depends on your individual priorities. Some punters prefer to use many different apps. This enables them to access the best odds and the widest range of matches, markets and offers. However, others prefer to just have one app and stick to that.

Whichever approach you choose, you should be sure to consider the following factors:

  • Licensed, safe and secure – make sure you only bet with a fully legal, UK-licensed betting app. The UK Gambling Commission regulates all the sites listed at Nostrabet. Moreover, they are safe, secure and play fair.
  • Bonuses and promotions – if you love extra value, make sure you pick an app with lots of offers.
  • Odds – if your sense of value is determined by strong odds, you should opt for a sportsbook that excels when it comes to its cricket odds.
  • App and reviews – what about the app itself? Is it quick, reliable and easy to use? Check out reviews where you download your apps. Furthermore, these reviews will give you more info on the quality of the bookie too.
  • Markets and matches – if you want to bet on less popular matches, make sure your cricket app provides a wide range of matches and leagues. Equally, if you prefer more unusual markets, make sure the bookie offers you these.
  • Payment method exclusions – most sites accept debit card, PayPal and other methods such as Skrill and Neteller. However, there may be exclusions, so make sure your preferred method is supported by the app you choose.

How to Download Any Cricket Betting App

Most people are familiar with downloading and using apps these days. The process to access a cricket betting app is the same as for any other. Go to Google Play, the App Store, or wherever you normally download apps. Most sites provide a visible link from their mobile or desktop site to the app. Alternatively, you can just search for it by typing the bookie’s name.

  1. Visit Google Play or the App Store for Android and iOS
  2. Search for the cricket app you want to download
  3. Check that you have found the correct, authorised app
  4. Click “Get” or “Download” or similar
  5. Authorise the installation
  6. Tap “Open”, “Visit” or similar to go into the app itself
  7. The app will typically be added to your homepage

How to Place a Bet on Cricket From a Mobile App

The steps for placing a bet will vary depending on the app. However, generally speaking, all bookies use a similar process. Assuming you have funds in your account, you need to find the market you want. Either use the search tool, or navigate via sport, then league, country or timeframe (for example, today, tomorrow or in-play).

Once you have found the match you want to bet on, you need to go to the market, which is required. If you know what you want, then tap the relevant tab. Alternatively, have a look at what is available if you want some inspiration.

Once you have decided on your bet, tap the selection you want. This will typically have the odds listed alongside it. This will add the pick to your betting slip. Next, you need to select your stake and then click “Place Bet” (or similar). You may need to tap “Confirm” subsequently. You should then receive a message that confirms your wager has been placed.

Conclusion

Betting on cricket is very popular with a wide range of fans in the UK. The best sportsbooks offer customers superb cricket betting apps, and so betting on this wonderful sport is easier than ever. Betting on mobile is quick, hugely convenient and very straightforward.

Moreover, the best sites – and all the ones listed here – offer a huge range of different cricket bets covering just about every cricket competition going. Nostrabet only recommends safe, secure, and UK-licensed bookies. Consequently, you can pick any of these apps and be sure your funds and personal info will be well cared for.

FAQ

Is it safe to use a cricket betting app?

Yes! Use a fully legal site regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, and their app will be safe, secure and worthy of your trust.

Can I receive live score updates and notifications from the cricket betting app?

Many of the best apps have a range of tools, and all will display the score and stats alongside big games. The best cricket betting apps, including bet365, also facilitate push notifications. Furthermore, you can select what actions you receive them for, with wickets, overs, milestones and breaks in play standard options.

What types of cricket bets can I place (e.g., match winner, top batsman)?

All the cricket apps covered here offer a huge selection of bets on the biggest games. Outrights, match winner, player specials, run totals, and various in-game specials are all widely available.

What happens if a match is cancelled or postponed?

It will vary depending on the circumstances, the bet and the bookmaker. However, in general, wagers that the bookmaker has unconditionally settled will stand. Similarly, your bets will normally remain valid where matches are postponed for just a brief period (perhaps no more than 72 hours). In general, cancelled matches result in a void bet. Last, if a game is abandoned by officials, your wagers will usually settle on the official result, and where none is declared, they will normally be void.

Is cricket live streaming available on cricket betting apps?

Some cricket betting apps offer live streaming, though this may depend on your location. Due to TV rights deals, not all streams are available to all customers. William Hill and Bet365 are among the sites that offer live cricket streams.
