Seb Knows: Tottenham vs Everton Prediction & More

This is the first edition of my weekly predictions, where I’ll be picking out some of the most interesting games across English football. This week, I’ve got my eye on Tottenham vs Everton, Sunderland vs Arsenal, Middlesbrough vs Norwich, and Leyton Orient vs Wycombe.

Tottenham vs Everton

Tottenham Hotspur head into matchweek four of the new Premier League season not only looking for their first three points, but also their first goal for 2026/27.

The Lilywhites at least managed a point away to Nottingham Forest in a 0-0 bore draw last time out, but Roberto De Zerbi’s side have looked far from threatening, despite spending almost £400m this summer.

Tottenham come up against a thin but stubborn Everton squad who are yet to lose this season, having defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 on opening day before drawing with both Bournemouth and Man United.

That being said, I think things could finally click for Marmoush, Savio, Tonali and co back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Sunderland vs Arsenal

Is anyone going to be able to stop the Gunners this season? With Liverpool enduring a tricky summer transfer window, Man City under significant transition with Enzo Maresca, and Chelsea still in the early days of their new era, Arsenal look well-placed to make it back-to-back Premier League titles.

Although impressive last season, Sunderland have been up and down so far this campaign. A shock opening-day defeat to Ipswich was followed by a narrow 1-0 win over Fulham and a 1-1 draw away to Brentford.

I can see ex-Spurs Kevin Danso creating some headlines by nodding Sunderland in front in the first half, only for the Gunners to run away with things thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Eberechi Eze.

Middlesbrough vs Norwich

Don’t let the 3-0 League Cup defeat to Crystal Palace fool you; Middlesbrough have been impressive at the start of the 26/27 Championship season. Just look at the 1-0 away win over high-flying QPR as proof.

Boro have looked impressive at home too, recording 2-1 and 3-1 wins over Lincoln City and West Brom so far.

Norwich have had a strange old start to the campaign. In isolation, a 4-1 win at home to Burnley and a 3-1 win away to Sheffield United look like real statement results. Unfortunately, defeats to West Brom, Stoke, and Millwall somewhat dampen things.

I’m backing Boro to just about get the job done this weekend, with that man Will Lankshear making it 8 goals in 8 appearances.

Leyton Orient vs Wycombe

Keeping on the Tottenham theme, let’s turn our attention towards Leyton Orient. The two clubs have long-since been bonded due to close proximity and a shared history with the late Justin Edinburgh.

This season, the O’s have Yusuf Akhamrich on loan from the North Londoners, and the 20-year-old has been on fire so far. After his six goals and two assists for Bristol Rovers in League Two last year, Akhamrich has started the 26/27 campaign in League One with three goals and one assist in his first five matches.

Next up is Wycombe Wanderers at home – a team who are yet to win a single game so far this season. Leyton, on the other hand, already have a 2-0 win over Wigan and a 5-0 win over Bromley to their names, as well as a 1-1 draw with Luton Town.
