Seb Knows: Tottenham vs Aston Villa Prediction & More

Before we jump into our four Premier League predictions for the week, let’s take a look back at how we did last time out.

Unfortunately, Tottenham fell short of our win prediction, with Omar Marmoush obviously not getting on the scoresheet in a 0-0 draw, although the chances were there for Spurs.

Arsenal did earn all three points over Sunderland, as we predicted, but we just missed out on our BTTS punt. On any other day, we would have won big on our Middlesbrough prediction (Boro to win and Lankshear to score), but somehow Will Lankshear wasn’t among the scorers in the 4-3 win over Norwich.

Finally, Leyton Orient was a bust. We predicted the O’s to win and keep a clean sheet at home to Wycombe, but the away side walked away with a shock 3-2 victory.

But what about our predictions for this week…

Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur arrive in matchweek five in a unique position, as they continue to search for their first win of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Midweek offered little respite for the Lilywhites either, as Roberto De Zerbi’s side were dumped out of the Carabao Cup third round courtesy of three Liverpool screamers.

It was once again a case of chances missed for Spurs, although some would argue that chances missed are at least better than chances not created.

Weirdly, Tottenham can take inspiration from their upcoming opponents on that front. Aston Villa also went goalless in their opening four games of the 2025/26 campaign, but went on to finish in the top four and claim a Champions League spot.

Unfortunately, this year, after being gutted in the summer transfer window, the Villans are below even Tottenham, with just one point, one goal scored, and seven conceded.

On paper, it looks like this could finally be the game for Spurs to pick up a much-needed win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Brighton vs Arsenal

Arsenal already look clear favourites to go back-to-back in the Premier League title race this evening. While Man City also maintain a 100 per cent record, Enzo Maresca’s side have done so by the skin of their teeth, while Arsenal arguably haven’t had to get out of third gear yet.

The Gunners already have wins and clean sheets over Coventry, Aston Villa, and Sunderland this season, as well as a 2-1 victory over title rivals Chelsea. Not to mention their 1-0 Champions League win over Napoli and 4-2 thumping of Ipswich Town in the League Cup.

Bukayo Saka already has three goals to his name this season, so watch out for the England winger against Brighton.

But the Seagulls will be no pushovers. Remember, Brighton put four past Villa, three past Chelsea, five past Coventry, and just beat Man United 3-2 in the League Cup. If one thing is for certain, there should be goals at the AMEX this weekend.

Everton vs Ipswich Town

Only goal difference separates Everton and Ipswich heading into matchweek 5. The Toffees only have one win to their name from four games, but are yet to lose a fixture, conceding just three goals in the process. Ipswich have two wins, two defeats, seven goals scored, and 10 goals conceded. So, it looks like a case of the calm vs the chaotic this weekend.

At home, Everton have looked solid so far, earning wins and clean sheets over Crystal Palace and Wolves (League Cup), as well as a 2-2 draw with Man United. Ipswich may look rampant in attack, but their leaky defence could see them on the wrong end of a 1-0 defeat here.

Leeds United vs Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have only recorded one win to go with their three defeats so far this Premier League season, and it could be about to get worse as they come face-to-face with high-flying Leeds United.

Daniel Farke’s side are unbeaten so far in the opening four fixtures, and only Arsenal and Man City are above them in the table. 1-1 draws with Brentford and Brighton sit between two winning bookends – a 1-0 opening day victory away to Forest and a 4-1 thumping of Newcastle United.

With Leeds hosting Palace at Elland Road, a ground at which Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored in his last five games, I can only see a win for the home side here.
