Chris Knows: Fulham vs Manchester United Prediction & More

Last time, there were mixed results from my predictions for the Manchester derby. Manchester City won 1-0 at Old Trafford, meaning the BTTS prediction fell short, but Erling Haaland delivered on the anytime goalscorer pick.

This week, I’m looking ahead to four more Premier League fixtures, starting with Manchester United’s trip to Fulham.

Fulham vs Manchester United

Manchester United are facing a crisis, despite having only played four Premier League games this term.

Craven Cottage is their next destination, with Michael Carrick taking his team to face Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

Carlos Baleba is still absent through injury, whilst there are doubts over the fitness of Luke Shaw.

Carrick doesn’t have a great deal of options to choose from on Sunday, but the players he has available must play better.

Fulham are a team in transition, although they keep the ball rather neatly. Scoring will be difficult for them, despite United’s defensive woes.

I think United will win a close game here. There won’t be much in it.

Brentford vs Chelsea

Brentford welcome Chelsea to Stamford Bridge on Friday evening in what could be the match of the weekend.

Keith Andrews’ side have been excellent to start this campaign, whilst Chelsea have shown flashes of brilliance under Xabi Alonso.

The draw with Hull was a wake-up call for the Blues, and I think they will struggle again on Friday.

Moises Caicedo is out, which leaves them light in midfield, whilst Mamadou Sangare has already established himself as a game-winner for the Bees. He will make the difference in this one, and I think Brentford will win.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool

Andoni Iraola returns to his former club on Sunday as Liverpool face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

We’re still waiting to truly see the best from Liverpool this season, although their youngster looked very impressive in midweek action against Tottenham Hotspur.

Bradley Barcola is due a start, and I think the way Bournemouth play will suit his pace. This will be a basketball-style game with a lot of counter-attacking chances at either end. Both Teams to Score is an absolute must for this game. However, I think it will end in a draw.

Newcastle United vs Hull City

Newcastle’s home match against Hull also promises to be full of goals.

All the early optimism from the Magpies’ early-season form has dissipated due to the trouncing they got at Leeds United last week, whilst Hull City have surprised everyone with their effective attacking play.

Saturday afternoon sees the Tigers head to Tyneside, and I think both teams will find the net, with defending not a strength of either side.

Newcastle should still have enough quality to win the match, although you do worry for them if they concede the first goal.

As far as anytime scorers go, I would once again point towards Mohamed Belloumi, who got a brace against Chelsea last weekend.
