Round 19 of the 2025-2026 Premier League season features league leaders Arsenal against third-placed Aston Villa. Arsenal go into this match in pole position for the title. Villa have enjoyed an excellent season so far at the halfway mark.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8:15 pm at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday 30th December 2025. Darren England is the designated match referee.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa Prediction

Saturday’s trip to Chelsea could mean Villa’s small squad is jaded. They now face an Arsenal side boasting three PL wins in December. So, I will back Arsenal to claim a narrow win.

Arsenal want revenge for their recent 2-1 loss at Villa Park. But the Gunners have not scored over two goals in their last three PL wins. Villa could also struggle to score against Arsenal’s superb defence. So, I go for under 2.5 goals.

Arsenal Analysis

Arsenal top the PL table with 42 points from 18 league matches (W13 D3 L2). Entering their final game of 2025, Arsenal have hit 33 PL goals while conceding 11.

An unbeaten PL home record of W8 D1 L0 gives Mikel Arteta’s side confidence. Since a 2-1 loss at Aston Villa in gameweek 15, the Gunners have three consecutive EPL victories. They beat Brighton 2-1 on 27th December, following up a 1-0 triumph at Everton and a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Wolves.

Mikel Arteta has multiple options in every position. So, the squad will be unfazed by playing an in-form Aston Villa.

The Gunners’ current injuries include defenders Christhian Mosquera (ankle) and Ben White (hamstring). Riccardo Calafiori was injured warming up for the Brighton match, and Jurrien Timber is doubtful. Further forward, injuries to Max Dowman (ankle) and Kai Havertz (knee) reduce their attacking options.

No Arsenal players are suspended for this match.

Bukayo Saka still has four goals and an assist in an injury-ravaged PL campaign. As Mikel Arteta’s chief dangerman from the right flank, you might fancy backing Saka anytime scorer (3.20 at Betway).

Aston Villa Analysis

Aston Villa have enjoyed an excellent season so far. The Midlands outfit currently sit third in the league table with 39 points after 18 matches, just three adrift of Arsenal.

This is Villa’s second away game of late December 2025. A memorable 27th December 2-1 win at Chelsea was a club-record eleventh successive win in all competitions. This is eight PL wins in a row since losing 2-0 at Liverpool on 1st November.

Their other December results include 2-1 home wins over Man United and Arsenal, plus away wins at West Ham (3-2) and Brighton (4-3).

Villa boast the second-best PL away record (W5 D2 L2) behind Arsenal. Plus, Unai Emery’s side have gained 39 PL points from a losing position in 2025-26.

Central defenders Tyrone Mings (hamstring) and Pau Torres (calf) are ruled out of action. In midfield, Ross Barkley has a knee complaint, while Harvey Elliott is absent due to illness. Matty Cash and Boubacar Kamara are both suspended for one game after yellow cards at Chelsea. So, Lamara Bogarde and youngster Andres Garcia could make rare starts.

Ollie Watkins hit two goals in Villa’s win at Chelsea on Saturday. The England man has netted four in five PL away days against Arsenal. Watkins anytime scorer is 5.0 (Betway).

Arsenal to score Christmas revenge

Arsenal will end Aston Villa’s incredible winning streak, as the Gunners end 2025 by winning a low-scoring encounter. Mikel Arteta’s team can gain revenge for Villa’s 2-1 win on 5th December 2025.
