There is no arguing that the 2025/26 English Premier League promises to be as exciting as last year. Arsenal and Liverpool are among the frontrunners, but traditional powerhouses like Manchester City, Tottenham, and Chelsea are close behind.

A quick look at the betting markets reveals bookies agree that all the teams mentioned above are in a position to win. Some, such as Arsenal and Liverpool, are in a slightly better situation, but this does not mean the others don’t stand a chance.

Considering all of that, let’s dive deep into our overview of the Premier League 2025/26 title contenders.

Liverpool – The Defending Champions

It’s safe to say that Arne Slot’s first summer in the EPL has been pretty interesting. Liverpool’s transfers smashed records as the club added the likes of Florian Wirtz (£108M), Jeremie Frimpong (£34.55M), Milos Kerkez (£40.51M), Hugo Ekitike (£82M), and a few others.

Judging by Liverpool’s current squad, the club is heading in the right direction. Overall, the club is a solid contender to win the English Premier League Season 2025/26. That said, the club’s back lines seem susceptible to pressure. There are rumours that Alexander Isak could join, but Liverpool may want to consider adding another defender.

Arsenal – More Flexible & Motivated Than Ever Before

Arsenal has come close to winning the English Premier League in recent years, but this has not happened yet. Judging by the club’s performance, the 2025/26 season might change that.

Arsenal made important changes in the summer by adding Viktor Gyökeres, Martín Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Nørgaard, Kepa, and Eberechi Eze, even though the club had to spend a fortune (over £286M in total).

After analysing the club’s current squad, it seems to have more presence in the penalty box and more set-piece menace. The club also seems to be effective at rotating attackers while keeping the enemy defence under pressure.

Since the team almost won the title in the last two seasons, the current squad will do everything possible to change that. We will have to wait and see, but the results and overall performance seem promising.

Manchester City – The Revolution

Although Pep Guardiola is still in charge, Manchester City looks a lot different than before. Kevin De Bruyne left, so Guardiola decided to refresh the squad by adding several new players. City added James Trafford, Tijjani Reijinders, Rayan Cherki, and a few others.

While De Bruyne’s absence has an effect on City’s late-game prowess, the club has more than enough players to make up for it. Rodri and Bernardo are usually more than capable of keeping the team up and running, meaning City has real title-winning chances.

With that said, the Sky Blues will have to face the other two big favourites – Arsenal and Liverpool. The gap between these three has never been as narrow as it is today, so everything is possible.

Chelsea – The Dark Horse

Chelsea’s performance in the last couple of years has been questionable, to say the least. However, Maresca’s side revealed that the team can bring down some of the best in the world after winning the Club World Cup. Chelsea defeated PSG 3:0 in the final and became the first-ever champion in the event’s new format.

Maresca definitely changed the way the club plays because he focuses on a young core of players. While some bookies do not agree that Chelsea can join the “Big Three” and make a “Big Four”, we believe this is possible.

Assuming that Cole Pelmer and Joao Pedro are fit, Chelsea is in a good position. The club will try to use the momentum and prove to its fans that it has what it takes to rival the best in England.

Tottenham – Revitalised Under Thomas Frank

Last but not least, we have Tottenham. Fresh off its Europa League triumph, Spurs are one of the most promising names in the 2025/26 EPL season. Tottenham’s latest additions have been solid, giving the team an excellent shot at securing a top-three finish.

It is safe to say the team can hang around with the top clubs and question some of the heavy favourites. Some would even say this season looks as promising as the one during Pochettino’s era. The latter was Tottenham’s coach between 2014 and 2019.

Closing Thoughts

Following some key transfers, we can clearly see that some clubs are in a much better position for the title race. There’s no arguing that Arsenal and Liverpool look the best, and teams like Chelsea, Tottenham, and City are close behind.

Ultimately, it will come down to a few factors, such as the adaptiveness of new signees and the fitness of each club’s players. There are numerous crucial matches ahead of us, so make sure you don’t miss out on any of the action.
